SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate

SASO-Recognized IECEE Certification Body

If the items being shipped are subject to a technical regulation from the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO), both a shipment certificate and a product certificate must accompany each shipment destined for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian Standardization Organization (SASO) has introduced SABER, an electronic platform for conformity assessment, along with the launch of the Saudi Product Safety Program (SALEEM).

What does IECEE represent?

The IECEE CB Scheme is a global system managed by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Equipment (IECEE) that facilitates the mutual recognition of test reports and certifications for electrical and electronic devices. This scheme simplifies the process for businesses to obtain product certification across international borders.

These certificates confirm that products meet the required standards and technical specifications. SASO strongly advises businesses to use this portal to request and obtain both a product certificate and a shipment certificate for goods subject to SASO technical regulations. For products not covered by SASO technical regulations, it is also recommended to obtain a self-declaration and a shipment certificate. Additionally, Markek provides IECEE Certificates and other services to assist companies in meeting the standards outlined in Saudi Technical Regulations and Saudi Standards.

Launched in January 2019, the SABER Platform supports the Saudi Product Safety Program for SASO Technical Regulations. The certification process for the Saudi Product Safety Program consists of two stages:

SASO/IECEE Recognition Certificate for Multiple Model Numbers

Multiple model numbers can be certified under a single SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate, provided that all items are listed on the same IECEE CB Test Report and IECEE CB Certificate.

SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate for Multiple Importers

When a SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is issued, it is registered and linked to a specific importer’s Commercial Registration (CR) number, meaning only that importer can use it. If you have three different importers for the same product, each importer will need their own SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate, necessitating the application for three separate certificates.
